Senior Shelby Stinebaugh signed to play volleyball with the Air Force Academy on March 23. Stinebaugh joins fellow Texans Michelle Harrington of San Antonio Reagan and Plano native Vanessa Warwick of the Ursuline Academy in Dallas.

Senior Katie Tull, an all-district volleyball and basketball player, signed with Charleston Southern University today. She will continue her basketball career there.

Senior volleball player Ashlie Christensen signed with Baylor University today. The talented outside hitter chose Baylor because it is close to her family.

The Lady Jackets extended their winning streak Friday by defeating the Everman Lady Bulldogs 25-5, 25-14 and 25-8. Cleburne dominated the first game by jumping out to a 6-0 lead and never looking back.

The Lady Jackets (19-11, 7-0) volleyball team took sole possession of first place in district 8-AAAA last night by defeating Stephenville (15-12, 5-2) in three games.

TGCA Volleyball Poll reveals nothing new for some teams

In one of the toughest districts in the state for Class 4-A Volleyball, there seems to be an amazing tradition. In the most recent TGCA Poll, Cleburne is ranked 9th. District rival, Aledo, is ranked 12th. Sound familiar? It should as both teams made the rankings along with another district rival, Stephenville, in 2005.

Katie Tull walked away with the most valuable player award at the annual volleyball banquet.

Tull, who was also district MVP, set a new school record for kill percentages with .364. She also led the team with 118 blocks and 363 digs.

The District 6-4A all district volleyball selections were announced today with the Lady Jackets taking two of the top awards. Coach Floyd Rogers was named Coach of the Year.

Lady Jacket season ends with loss to Aledo

Aledo must have felt a little like de ja vu in reverse Saturday.

The last district meeting between the Lady Jackets and the Lady Cats found Aledo winning games two, three and four after a resounding win by the Lady Jackets in the first game. Saturday night was almost a complete reversal of the last match-up.

The Birdville Lady Hawks fans arrived armed with flyswatters and ambitions to beat the Lady Jackets but left without a win or smashed Yellow Jacket.

The Lady Jackets defeated the Lady Hawks in three games Tuesday night at Mansfield�s Timberview High School.

Katie Tull, Ashlie Christianson, Kylie Ginn and Samantha Olesak led the Lady Jackets to a 25-16, 25-23 and 25-13 win.

The Cleburne Lady Yellow Jackets swept the Mineral Wells Lady Rams tonight in three games with scores of 25-11, 25-11, and 25-6. This moves the Lady Jackets forward with an overall record of 31-11 and a district record of 9-1 to claim the District 6-4A Championship.

The Lady Jackets will have a bye during the first round of playoffs and enter in the Area Round to be played from 10/31-11/01.

The Lady Jackets will host the District 15-4A champions Mansfield Timberview for a pre-playoff game on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 ay 6:30 PM. Timberview went 9-1 in district play this season, winning a league owned by Waxahachie and Midlothian over the past few years.

The Aledo Ladycats (25-11, 6-2) gave the Cleburne Lady Jackets (29-11, 7-1) it's first District 6-4A lost with scores of 14-25, 25-13, 25-13, 30-28. The Lady Jackets have clinched a playoff spot. The Lady Jackets finished second in 2003 (15-4A) and third last year (6-4A). This year, they are on their way to earning the District 6-4A crown.

Katie Tull led Cleburne (28-10, 6-0) with eight kills, 12 digs and five blocks, and Ashley Christenson added 11 kills.
