The Bomb or a Bomb?

Halo 2, the very much anticipated sequel to the original Halo, hit stores earlier this month with a mixed response.

Like its earlier counterpart, Halo 2 includes some of the original concept but adds new weapons, vehicles, aliens and a new storyline.

Halo 2 is rated M for Mature audiences due to the blood, gore, violence and language.

Players still kill aliens in Halo 2, but whether you are sniping, driving a Warthog or on foot, the gameplay is still pretty much the same.

Eventually the onslaught of alien hovercraft, foot soldiers, tanks and spaceships takes its toll on travelers, as they are picked off one-by-one. The shrieks and bloody smears are a plus feature for the newer version.

An occasional obscenity from soldiers can be heard from time-to-time, and if playing online you may encounter some immature players who think four-letter words are funny.

Due to poor sales the first few days, it may be hard to find Halo 2 outside a computer store.

Wal-Mart employee Mindy Stevens said Halo 2 didn't receive the response that the original Halo received when it debuted.

"The original Halo sold out in under two hours, with more than 200 copies sold," she said. "It was utter chaos down here. People brought pillows, put them in a cart and waited in the cart until midnight rolled around to buy Halo."

She said Halo 2 sold only 13 of 60 copies the first night. The rest sold over a 24-hour period, and the company did not restock.
