Cleburne track and field participants put on a remarkable show at the state meet in Austin this weekend, with one athlete bringing home a broze medal.

Senior Osha Ellison set a new school record when she tossed the shot put 41' 11 and 3/4". The distance earned her a third place finish and a bronze medal.

Junior Katie Shaw saw double duty, running in both the 1600 meter and the 3200 meter races. Shaw finished sixth in the 3200 and eighth in the 1600.

"She had a little mishap during the 1600," Coach Richard Naylor said. "A girl running behind her tripped and caused Katie to fall. She got up and finished the race, anyway."

Senior Adam Rogers finished seventh in the boys shot put with a toss of 51' 3 and 3/4".

"He did about as well as he did at regionals," Coach Robert Dagley said. "He expected to do better but the competition was tough."
