Boosters display a sign supporting CHS cross country teams.

The Lady Jacket Varsity and Junior Varsity cross country teams finished first in district action here today.

The Varsity finished the meet with 61 points followed by Brewer with 85 and Joshua with 137.

Katie Shaw's finished first with a time of 12:14.13. Diane Green's time of 12:37.99 earned her a fourth place finish. Top ten finishers also included Holly Maddox fifth, Danielle Nunley eighth and Davy Green ninth.

"We did what I expected," Coach Coby Bird said. "They looked good at the start and finished strong. Katie's finish cinched it for us."

Other runners included Monica Vasques, who finished 11th, and Dariela Olquin with a 23rd place finish.

The win allows the Lady Jackets to advance to regionals at a place and time TBA.
