Feb 1, 2008 - 11:52:06 PM - The biennial UIL reclassification and realignment for the 2008-09 and
2009-10 school years was released Friday, February 1st.
The new alignments, established by enrollment figures submitted to the
UIL by its member schools in October, will serve as football and
basketball districts for the next two school years.
Cleburne High School will now be in District 16-4A (Region II) along with Corsicana, Ennis, Midlothian, Waco, Waco Midway, Waco University, and Waxahachie.
Most of the former District 8-4A (Region I) members are still together (Crowley, Everman, Joshua, and Stephenville) along with Arlington Sequin, Granbury, Mansfield Legacy, and Mansfield Timberview.
Aledo and Mineral Wells moved to District 6-4A and Alvarado dropped down to 3A due to it's enrollment figure of 976 in October. The minimum enrollment for 4A classification is 980.
Cleburne High School athletic director Phil Young has announced the Jackets’ 2008 football schedule. Dates have yet to be determined. The new schedule for 2008 has three district games at Yellow Jacket Stadium and four away district games.
