Pulling Troops: Pros Vs. Cons

As the argument continues about pulling out our troops, it’s fairly obvious that the sudden withdrawal would only cause more problems than solutions for our country that faces threats of new Iraqi terrorists.

Considering the time, effort, and money put into our troops in Iraq it would only seem pointless to pull them out. Everything we had established within that amount of time would be for nothing and would only continue to let Iraqi terrorists come to further power and increased rate of attacks of our American soldiers.

It can also lead to reinvasion on to future terrorist power that may spread to neighboring countries enticing not only an Iraq war but a regional war of Sunni-Shiite that could result in 10 times more of bloodshed that could easily be avoided.

Taking our troops from harms way could lead Iraq into providing another launching base, if invaded, which could lead to countless lives of innocent civilians; casualties that could be easily dealt with surrounding American troops to guarantee no such base.

There is also the fact that Iraqi supporters of American soldiers could be faced with death or torture for treason that will provide us only with an Iraqi fear of retribution gaining us nothing but an unwillingness to help with future terrorist insurgents.

As another battle we would face, in the U.S as a negative effect, is that our corporations settled here will no longer control the flow of oil, bringing gas to devastating amount of five dollars a gallon.

Concerned wives and families of supporting American soldiers should gain further knowledge of damage it could cause to the U.S, our military, and to Iraq’s civilians and country. A balance should be weighed between the two of which is less destructive, money and casualty wise, to them and to us and to take action for or against it.
