Feb 22, 2007 - 9:23:00 PM - Ghost Rider audiences asked for their money back after viewing the much touted Nicholas Cage movie. The movie's poor acting and comic book mentality had viewers shaking their heads and heading for the exits.
The Ghost Rider plot line consists of a modern day "Evil Kinevil" named Johnny Blaze (Nicholas Cage) making a deal with the devil to save his dying father from dying. Blaze doesn't realize that the deal truly doesn't save his father and separates him from his love (Eva Mendes). Years later on the anniversary of his father's "accidental" motorcycle stunt crash, Blaze is called back on his pact to become the Ghost Rider, which is the "devil's bounty hunter," to save the world from Satan's son, Blackheart (Wes Bently) and his pack of evil minions.
Ghost Rider is full of confusing twists and cliched lines such as "You may have my soul, but you can never have my spirit."
Freshmen Jacki Kelly almost wished she would have stayed home.
"It was great to make fun of, but other than that, it was horrible," she said.
Freshmen Kyle Mears hated the comic book turned flick movie.
"I thought that ghost rider was one of the dumbest movies I have seen so far this year," he said. "It had some good parts but not many."
Ghost Rider was released nationwide on February 16.
