It’s a little bit country, a little Old West and a lot of good down-home fun.

The second annual Three County Cattle Drive, benefiting Ronald McDonald House, promises to keep even the “Rock Lovers” entertained with live music, cattle rides, trail rides, chuck wagon meals, vendors, games and western demonstrations.

“The concert is a full day festival on September 25. The gates will open at 9 a.m. and the music will start at 11a.m.,” said Amy Sausen, the daughter of the Beaumont Ranch owners. ”This is our second year to do this. Last year we had Willie Nelson as the big guy.”

The Three County Cattle Drive, orchestrated by the John Ellis Hill Foundation, got its name because the actual cattle drive goes through Ellis, Johnson and Hill counties.

Along with the cattle drive, there will be hourly gunfights followed by a day of Country Music. Headlining the show are country favorites Tanya Tucker and Clint Black, and special guest Josh Turner. Other artists include Ray Wylie Hubbard, Cooder Graw, Larry Joe Taylor, Deryl Dodd and Eleven Hundred Springs.

The country music show is what attracts most fans, but the gunfights are also crowd pleasers, Sausen said.

“The gunfights begin early and last all day. It is going to be fun,” she said.

Beaumont Ranch operations manager Chuck Krueger said he is looking forward to the charity event.

“I am excited about the Clint Black concert. It will bring a lot of people. We treat our stars first class,” he said.

Krueger, who supervised the construction of the Old West set, said he thinks the gunfights will be great.

“It is going to be a basic Old West shoot-out, they all have six-shooters, no rifles or nothing else— so no one has an advantage over another,” Krueger said.

Gates open at 9 a.m., with live entertainment beginning at 11 a.m. For further information call 1-888-796-9999 or visit the event website at http://www.threecountycattledrive.com. Tickets are available at David Beans Photography Studio. The price is $25 for the entire day’s events.
