Mr., Miss Golden Pride nominees announced by district


Nov 7, 2008 - 3:50:11 PM - Twelve senior members of the Cleburne High School band have been nominated by their peers for their dedication and contributions to the music program as candidates for Mr. and Miss Golden Pride.

The presentation of Miss Golden Pride nominees Katie Boulden, Bailey Harrington, Jordan “Taylor” House, Maribel Ortiz, Joelle Schleicher and Taytem Spurlock and Mr. Golden Pride candidates Eli Breland, Dakota Easdon, Travis English, Chris Huot, Tyson Taves and Chris Taylor and the announcement of this year’s honorees will be among Friday’s Senior Night pre-game festivities.

Teacher Spotlight- Barney McClure


Nov 7, 2008 - 3:44:42 PM - In all my years of attending CHS I had never thought about the inside world of what my teachers thought. I had been so excited to just make it through my years and graduate I never took the time to know the person behind the teacher. One teacher in my four years stayed with me and will continue to as I hold my cap an wear my gown. His name is Barney McClure of CHS Ag. He had taken the time and patience to understand and get to know each one of his students.

Personally I find this to pose a problem to not only the youth of the world but adults as well. The fact that reading is one of the most crucial parts of learning and in some cases basic survival.

Nov 7, 2008 - 3:03:33 PM - As you go through each day at school you tend to take things or even people for granted for example your teacher, well I did realize the importance of my teachers because in a way what would be the point of on individual having all the knowledge and not sharing it with no one. My particular individual is Mrs. Williams she is my practical writing teacher and I was interested in finding out more about her in simple man’s term just to find out what makes my teacher tick.
