Girls basketball season looks promising

Speed and quickness are what girls' basketball coach Mitzi Marquart thinks will keep the Lady Jackets in contention with their 8-AAAA opponents.
The 22-year veteran coach said she is very enthusiatic about this year's team.

When a game is well-played and well-coached, it’s hard to walk away with a loss. It’s equally hard when your best shooter puts up 28 points, eight of which were 3-pointers.
The Yellow Jackets (20-14) lost to seventh-ranked Arlington Sequin (28-5) Friday night in overtime. The loss ended the Jackets’ bid for a state-championship.

Rebounding, defense key to Jacket success

The 2005 Yellow Jacket boys' basketball team looks to complete another playoff season starting with a scrimmage last Saturday.
Losing six seniors from last year's squad, including leading rebounder Angus Quigley, makes for a rebuilding season. Rebounding and defense are two big question marks for this team entering the new season.
