Smoke Clearing from Public Places

Arizona and California were two of the first states to step up and outlaw smoking in public places and have stuck with it closely. Perhaps other states should start to take notice of these state’s examples and maybe we could all stop involuntarily taking in the poison from the air that we have to breathe.

It happens all the time. We are standing in line at a fast food restaurant, watching the kids play in the play area while their parents watch them closely from inside and have to suffer with the smell of second hand smoke. The smoke snakes its way through our lungs and affects our hearts.

Physician tapped as Coming Home Queen


Sep 17, 2008 - 11:39:12 AM - The class valedictorian who left Cleburne in 1987 to pursue her dream of studying medicine and returned home in 2000 to practice medicine has been named this year’s Cleburne High School Ex-Students Association Coming Home Queen.

Stephanie Johnson Morton, voted by her classmates as “Most Likely to Succeed,” is among the CHS alumni to be honored at Homecoming festivities Thursday and Friday.

Broadcaster named to Wall of Fame


Sep 17, 2008 - 11:37:22 AM - As news director of WBAP, Rick Hadley is used to covering the news and keeping listeners informed of the latest happenings.

But this week, Hadley, a member of the Cleburne High School Class of 1981, is making news as the recipient of the CHS Ex-Students Association’s Wall of Fame Award, presented in conjunction with 2008 Homecoming festivities.
