Physician tapped as Coming Home Queen

The class valedictorian who left Cleburne in 1987 to pursue her dream of studying medicine and returned home in 2000 to practice medicine has been named this year’s Cleburne High School Ex-Students Association Coming Home Queen.
Stephanie Johnson Morton, voted by her classmates as “Most Likely to Succeed,” is among the CHS alumni to be honored at Homecoming festivities Thursday and Friday.

As news director of WBAP, Rick Hadley is used to covering the news and keeping listeners informed of the latest happenings.
But this week, Hadley, a member of the Cleburne High School Class of 1981, is making news as the recipient of the CHS Ex-Students Association’s Wall of Fame Award, presented in conjunction with 2008 Homecoming festivities.

Just under
the grumblings of students can be heard the quiet elation of parents .
. . school is back. This means the usual checklist: notebooks and
pencils bought, backpack filled, lunchbox cleaned and tire pressure
checked.
Tires? Odds are they never crossed your mind, let alone made your
to-do list. In fact, 85 percent of Americans don’t check their tires
regularly, according to the 2007 motorist survey by Rubber
Manufacturers Association (RMA). But with school in session, soccer
moms, college kids and everyone else driving to or dropping someone off
at a campus might want to reconsider their “rubbery friends.”

Early voting for this year's CISD Board of Trustees election runs from May 1-9 at the CISD administration building, 505 N. Ridgeway. Election day is May 13, 2006. This year’s school board election finds 10 candidates vying for three available positions.
