Pritchett Named New High School Principal

Cleburne High School Assistant Principal Monte Pritchett has been reassigned to the lead position at the campus, taking over for current Principal Justin Marchel, who has accepted a position with the Region XIII Education Service Center, effective June 5.

2007 UIL Qualifiers Head for State


May 3, 2007 - 2:00:37 PM - Eight Cleburne High School students will be going for the gold this week as participants in the 2007 UIL State Academics Meet, set for May 3-5 in Austin.

For the fourth consecutive year, CHS is sending an Accounting Team to the state contest, following first place wins at the District and Regional levels. This year’s four-member group includes Seth Boles and Amy Lawrence, who held positions on the 2006 team which finished third in the state, along with Justine Forrest and Andrew Rachel. Sophomore Kaley Ownbey has been serving as the team alternate throughout the year and will also travel to the state contest.

Marchel Announces Resignation

Cleburne High School Principal Justin Marchel, who is in his fifth year as campus administrator, has accepted a position with the Texas Education Agency effective June 5.

Marchel will serve as director of field operations with TEA’s Texas High School Redesign and Restructuring program.

Nunley to run at Dallas Baptist University

Track and cross-country star Danielle Nunley signed a letter of intent yesterday to run for Dallas Baptist University. The four-year cross-country starter led the Lady Jackets this year finishing near the top in every race.

Nunley began her cross-country career here with a bang, competiting in the state meet as a freshman.

UIL academic team finishes 3rd at region meet


Apr 15, 2007 - 3:10:37 PM - At least one student from every event Cleburne entered at the region UIL academic event in San Angelo will advance to state. The team finshed the competition in third place with 97 points behind Denton Ryan High School, who finished first with 173 points and Randall High School with 107 points.

Meet the Robinsons is a hilarious children's movie with audience appeal for all ages.

The latest installment in the Disney collection portrays Louis Robinson, an aspiring inventor, who was orphaned as an infant. As his 13 birthday draws near, and no adpotion in his future, Louis sets out to invent a machine to find his mother. But when a Bowler-hat man hungry for revenge enters the picture. Louis must race against the clock in order to save the future.

Senior Shelby Stinebaugh signed to play volleyball with the Air Force Academy on March 23. Stinebaugh joins fellow Texans Michelle Harrington of San Antonio Reagan and Plano native Vanessa Warwick of the Ursuline Academy in Dallas.
