Services Set for Assistant Principal

Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9 at
White Bluff Chapel for Cleburne High School Assistant Principal Krista
Findley, who was killed in a car accident early Thursday morning.
Visitation will be take place Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Marshall and
Marshall Funeral Home in Whitney.

After New York Yankee’s pitcher Roger Clemens’s trainer accused him of steroid abuse in a Congressional report, the story spread faster than a west
Texas wildfire. News markets ran the story either front page or as the lead story on its evening news programs. Clemens’s has denied, publicly, that he ever abused steroids or any other performance enhancing drugs.

Cleburne moved to District 16-4A

The biennial UIL reclassification and realignment for the 2008-09 and
2009-10 school years was released Friday, February 1st.
The new alignments, established by enrollment figures submitted to the
UIL by its member schools in October, will serve as football and
basketball districts for the next two school years.

Recently another icon from my childhood disappeared. Dick Wilson, who
made “Please don’t squeeze the Charmin” a national slogan as the
harried shopkeeper Mr. Whipple trying to prevent happy housewives from
molesting the very soft toilet paper, died of natural causes at the age
of 91.

2007 Homecoming Honorees Announced

Chuck Curtis, former coach of the Cleburne Yellow Jackets, and members
of the 1982 team which advanced to the semi-final round of the 4A state
football championships, are among the honorees who will be presiding
over Cleburne High School 2007 Homecoming festivities.
Curtis and his 1982 Jackets will serve as Parade Marshals for Thursday
evening’s Homecoming Parade, kicking off two days of activities,
sponsored by Cleburne High School and the CHS Ex-Students Association.
